About

Ombey graduated from flight school on the 15th February 2005, an average student as capsuleers go. Not really having much idea about what he wanted to do, he joined UK Corp and stayed with them for a long time, learning the ropes, participating in all sorts of activities- mining, missions, PvP. Eventually they started a new Alliance, Lotka Volterra, along with Shinra and M Corp, and moved into Tenerifis. It was his first taste of 0.0, and it was bitter sweet.

Eventually, as is always the way, the alliance was drawn into a huge conflict versus Red Alliance, Tau Ceti and Goonswarm. After a while, Ombey had enough of 0.0 and left UKC to persue other interests.

After trying and failing to find a corp he was truly happy in, he ended up in KIA Alliance, where he enjoyed the small gang warfare and the full on PvP it offered. After a year of warfare in which KIA changed itself from a merc alliance to a sov holder, Ombey again felt it was time for a change, and ended up in Ushra’Khan. The small gang warfare and fighting against numerically superior foes on a daily basis is very appealing, as is the comradeship of his fellow pilots.

After the fall of old Providence, things weren’t quite the same in U’K, and Ombey has recently left to try pastures anew. Watch this space!

As for the guy behind Ombey. I have a thing about maps, and after I’d been playing for a few months, I hand-drew a map of Heimatar with various annotations on it. It was the region I used a lot, and I would make money by plying NPC trade routes in my Mammoth, afk hauling through lowsec (!!!). Then Amamake got to be the way it was, and I had to be smarter. Necessity dictated I use Visio for my map, for clarity and accuracy, and I decided to expand it to the surrounding regions, and then all over. By the start of 2006, all the regions were complete, and I set about adding features to it on a rolling basis. It was a very different mapset then compared to now.
